If you or your client is eligible for a Homestead Rebate Check from the government, make sure your attorney makes a provision for the buyer to send you a check. Recently, instead of issuing you a check, the credit is now taken out of your property tax, which means the new owner (the buyer) may get your refund as a tax credit.
